I'm not a purist in this regard, more a pragmatist. Having model weights be open under OSI licenses, as opposed to corporate licenses with an arbitrary MAU threshold, is already major progress.
Further opening up the tooling is also a welcoming sign.
To push for more open source, someone needs to: 1. go first; 2. be competitive enough to force the hand of others to follow.

I mean in the use of the words mostly, maybe I’m not specific enough. Lots of true open source ai people wouldn’t count this as open source
